Vellum Hall is an independent jewelry studio built around a particular point of view: Gothic design principles for the romantics.

We create jewelry with old-world character, unusual stones, architectural detail, and just enough strangeness to make a piece difficult to mistake for anyone else’s.

The Studio began with founder Kady Coulon’s fascination with antique jewelry and the individuality found in pieces made before sameness became so easy. A collector first, she was drawn to irregular old cuts, unexpected proportions, elaborate metalwork, and jewelry that seemed to possess a character of its own. When the modern pieces she wanted to wear proved difficult to find, Vellum Hall became the answer.

The Studio takes its cues from Gothic arches, old settings, heavy gold, strange proportions, and stones with character to spare. We favor old cuts, lower colors, unusual shapes, and diamonds and gemstones whose beauty isn’t necessarily captured by a grading report.

We believe personal style is strongest when it is specific. That fewer, better choices are more interesting than endless ones. And that jewelry should reveal something about the person who recognizes it.

Vellum Hall is independently owned and original Vellum Hall pieces are designed and manufactured in the United States in partnership with small, independent makers and craftspeople. All pieces ship from Indiana.
