Ethereal Old Mine + Hand Engraving

A home in spring light.

In the center is an intentionally flat and "spready" old mine cut natural diamond that is a true chameleon. It is a GIA J/SI1 and rather than deep, tunnel-like flashes, this cut throws light across the surface like sunlight moving across water. The reflections feel fluid and expansive rather than sharp and vertical. Its spread is right around 7 mm, giving it the large face up presence similar to that of a 1.5 carat old mine. 

In tone, the diamond rests in warm ivory, with soft golden undertones that gather at the edges where the 18k bezel holds it. Depending on the light, it can skew either, and occasionally creating a bi-color effect. 

That warmth informed the ring as a whole.

The subtle vine engraving along the shoulders was drawn from the same atmosphere this diamond creates. The Cottage has always been named for the idea of home: something grounded, intimate, and lived in. 

For the wearer, a low profile ensures comfort and wearability, and the thicker comfort band still gives this ring understated presence. The vines are hand engraved into the shoulders creating further one of one detail.

We created The Cottage to honor a longstanding and most-loved silhouette that serves a place in modern and vintage inspired collections alike. It was made to exist in both classic and more detailed, whimsical entries.

While the setting is wider and heavier, it still stacks beautifully will all different types of bands for a curated look.
